with only one week left in new zealand, and only one day left in lake hawea, i am not sad at all. i will miss the beautiful running tracks, the amazing views, my adorable cousins who will probably be teenagers by the next time i see them, and i will miss the people i've met here.
i've been such a terrible blogger and haven't bothered to write much as of late.
this weekend though, i went to dunedin (west coast! sea!) with annie, a woman from work who was working the iDXV Fashion Show which I got to attend on friday night! it was so amazing, it was a held in the dunedin railway station, which is a magnificent building. in the middle of the show, trains would go past, and you could feel everything shake with it's arrival. i wandered around dunedin - shopping and enjoying being on my own. on sunday morning, annie and i went to the great Larnarch Castle, which is the only castle in new zealand. now THAT was beautiful.
yesterday i spent the morning in wanaka, reading harry potter, and eating patagonia's sorbet on the lake front. does it get much better than that? i don't think so. after that, i took keely and jay's dog, cooper, for a walk along the lake front in lake hawea (10k in flip flops was my dumbest move yet - can you say blisters?) but it was beautiful and i get to do it again! cooper helps me satisfy my need for scout.
today is going to be a packing filled day since tomorrow we leave for christchurch! after a couple days there, on the 12th i get on a train by myself and head off to pickton, where i then hop on a fairy and go to the north island and meet patsy and ken's friend, basia, in wellington. wellington also happens to be where the royal family is staying during their visit in new zealand, so who knows - maybe i'll get to get a glimpse of royalty! after a night there, i bright and early hop on another train and head up to the big city of auckland! i then spend three days in auckland all by myself (FREEDOM THANK GOODNESS) and then on the 16th i get to do my favourite part of this journey - get on a plane and fly home.
i'm so excited to see everyone. i miss my mom so much (even though within five minutes of being around her we'll probably be arguing). i can't wait to see ty, dad, scout, and clover! i miss all my extended family, auntie and uncle bruce, justin and jorja, the drew's, cari, shae, chloe, the donaldson's! i even miss zumba!
in one week i'll be so close to seeing them and that makes me so happy.
